CDD Partial Die Cutting

Hello there!!!
I'm up on the Craftin' Desert Divas blog showing you a version of partial die cutting!!!

Below are a list of Craftin' Desert Divas supplies used to create this card.

Ok, let's begin...
Trim up a piece of cardstock 4 x 5 1/4, this will be the front panel.
Use the stitched cirle die and cut 5 or 6 pieces of cardstock and adhere them together...one on top of eachother as to form a thick barrier.
Align the border die and tape to the panel.
Flip panel over and tape the layered circle dies precisely where you want your window. The layered circles will allow you to run this thru the die cutting machine and only cut where the circle is. Run this thru the machine, back and forth, a few times.
Flip the panel over to the front view and remove the border die and layered circle barrier carefully!!!
Now place the stitched circle die exactly where you want your window.
When you place the clear cutting pad over the metal die, do not cover the part you want intact.
It will come out like this...
You will need a craft knife to trim the corners by where the circle and border dies meet.
Place the die cut panel over your card base, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 cardstock. Lightly pencil where the window is. This is the best time to add your sentiment.
Cover up the sides of the card base so they are kept clean, free from any ink.
Start inking the background.
When you are happy with your blending, add a few splats of white paint, allow to dry.
Assemble your card and add embellishments!!!

Don't you just love it!!!!
Hope you give it a try!!!
If you have any questions, just leave them in the comments and I'll be happy to answer you!!!

CDD January Release

Hello there crafters!!!
It's Release Week here at Craftin' Desert Divas!!!!

The new relase is now available in the shop!!!
Any order totalling $50 and over will receive the "Believe" stamp set for free!!!

I stamped the background using the new stamp set Up, Up & Away and a previously released set Sparkle. I stamped the all the images with Memento black ink and colored with Copic Markers. I clear embossed the sentiment onto vellum cardstock than trimmed. The fringe die is also part of the new release...see below.

Copic Marker shades I used: RV000,RV34, R81, R83, B60, BV02, Y11, Y15, W00, W1. I added some Wink of Stella and gold thread.
*****************************************************

For this card I used the new Party Time Stencil and inked the background with broken china and wilted violet Distress Oxide Inks. I sprinkled some glitter over the ink. I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder and framed it with an Inside Scalloped Frame Die...for both, see below. I embellished with tulle, twine, and bells.

These next few projects are my favorite!!!! The new Party Border Dies are so incredible and can be used with anything!!!!
Here, I made tassels with the fringe die...you can see a peek under the gift.
I am adding this to The Card Concept....style is classy and elegant
Before I rolled the tassels I emossed the edges with gold embossing powder, than used gold thread to wrap around the edges. I die cut the heart using Nested Heart Dies and clear embossed the sentiment, from the new set Happy Sentiments...see below.
I love, love, love this card!!! The banners flying over the house just screams 'Welcome'!!!! I inked up some cardstock with broken china Distress Oxide Ink for the background and wilted violet Distress Oxide Ink for the banners. I added some splatters of white paint. I added the house, grass and fence die cuts...see below.
I stamped the inside using Wishful Thoughts stamp set for a new home owner.
For this anniversary card I used Distress Oxide Inks in shades worn lipstick, broken china, and fossilized amber...a few splatters of white paint. The banner dies, happy die and sentiment stamp can be found below. I added some clear sequins.
I am adding the anniversary card to Addicted to Stamps and More...CAS

For this shaker card I inked up some cardstock with candied apple Distress Oxide Ink and fossilized amber Distress Oxide Ink. I used Inside Scalloped Rectangle Dies and the new Party Border Dies, along with the new Happy Sentiments stamps. I also added a whole bunch of sequins!!!

CDD Alcohol Inks

Hello there!
It's Michelle here on the CDD blog sharing my technique with alcohol inks.
I have to admit, at first alcohol inks freaked me out!!!!! But I follow the lazy girl rule....let the alcohol blending solution do all the work!!!!
And by the way....it is soooooo much fun!!!!

Let's go step by step:
'Wishing You the Best' card
Start out with Yupo paper for alcohol inks ( I purchased mine at Michaels).
I lay a piece of sticky clear contact on my surface, the kind you cover school books with.
Lay the piece of Yupo paper flat and add a few drops of alcohol ink than blending solution.
First I added mermaid ink than blending solution. Allow it to spread.
Next I added indigo ink than blending solution and allow to spread.
The last color I added is lettuce ink than added blending solution and allow to spread. Allow to dry for at least an hour. This panel is my card base.
Next, I inked up Yupo paper with mermaid ink and silver metallic mixative and blending solution. Allow to spread and dry.
I used the word die and cut this panel
I assembled the card using Fancy Frame Die and Flag Banner Dies. I used the stamp set Wishful Thoughts.
The metallic mixative adds such a beautiful shine!!!

'All My Love' card...
For this car I used cranberry ink, mermaid ink and indigo ink followed by alcohol blending solution allowing it to spread and dry. Than I used the nested hearts dies to cut the heart.
I used the stamp set Hugs and Kisses for the sentiment.
Please give this a try...you'll definitely love it!!!!!

Hope you enjoyed this post!!!!
